My family accuses me of not being a fan of movies, and that is not true, or at least not totally true. I just don’t like to waste a beautiful Saturday off indoors all afternoon when I could be enjoying the sunshine and outside. It is a question of priorities. I do like to go to movies if one, they are not too long (my A.D.D. rears its ugly head if they are over two hours long); two, if they are not too sad as I get my quota of sad other places, like the hospital, and three, they have to be worth my nine plus bucks to see. AN Attitude of Gratitude
In scanning the internet the week, I ran across the following article that appeared this past Thursday in something called Canada.com by a Monique Polak:
Not enough sleep? Kids not helping around the house? Can’t keep up with all your work? Quit your griping, says Will Bowen in his new book, “A Complaint Free World: How to Stop Complaining and Start Enjoying the Life You Always Wanted.” Continue reading
Just Start
We have been in the midst of another deluge, this time from a ferocious guy named Ike. We were without power like much of the city all night, so that is the reason for no bulletins this morning. The Road Trip
There are some great roadside attractions in this country, if you take a long car trip. We have taken several 5-6000 mile trips and have seen many wonders of America such as the Great Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota. It is a large auditorium completely covered in corn. And you wondered what those people in South Dakota do for fun. Continue reading
The Fear Factor
Well, I have certainly enjoyed the Olympic Games the last two weeks, and like many I have watched a lot more TV than normal. The USA has faired very well, and who hasn’t become fascinated with the great Michael Phelps, perhaps the greatest Olympian of all time. Eight gold medals is a feat that may never be surpassed by one single homo sapien. I am not sure if even Flipper could have won more than eight swimming events. Continue reading
